A website blocker that asks why.

Before YouTube, Reddit or any site on your list opens, Stillwood pauses for a few seconds and asks what pulled you there. Often that’s enough to change your mind. Every 20 minutes you keep for your own work grows a ring.

Ten seconds between you and the scroll

A blocker that only says “no” is easy to switch off. Stillwood gives you a moment to choose, and remembers what you chose.

  1. Your hand opens YouTube

Out of habit, mid-task, before you’ve even thought about it.

  2. Stillwood pauses it and asks one honest question

Bored, tired, anxious, stuck? Each answer gets its own small way back.

  3. You decide

Go back to work, take a real break, or open the site for 10 minutes with a purpose. When time’s up, Stillwood brings you back.

Rings of your time

Look at a slice of an old tree. Every year leaves a ring, and you can tell the warm summers from the dry ones.

Stillwood works the same way. Every 20 minutes you give to your own work becomes a ring. If something pulled you away during those minutes, the ring keeps an orange edge. No blame: every tree has dry years.

Rings never disappear. Day by day they add up to a picture of how much you’ve grown.

Your time is private

Stillwood works entirely on your computer. There’s no account to create and no server to send anything to.

Questions

How do I block YouTube during work hours?

Install Stillwood, pick YouTube in the list and choose the “Weekdays, 9:00–18:00” schedule. During those hours YouTube opens a short pause instead of the feed. Outside them it works as usual.

Can I still use YouTube when I need it for work?

Yes. Choose “Need it for work” on the pause screen and YouTube opens for 10 minutes with search only: no home feed, no recommendations, no Shorts.

Can I block a site completely?

Yes. Switch a site from “Pause & ask why” to “Closed” in settings. A closed site stays closed until your focus time ends.

Does Stillwood see my browsing history?

No. Stillwood only gets access to the sites you put on your list, and only to know whether an open tab is one of them. It keeps no browsing history, and nothing it stores ever leaves your computer.

Is Stillwood free?

Yes. Stillwood is free to install and use.

Which browsers does Stillwood work in?

Google Chrome and other browsers built on Chromium, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera.
